Trees of the World

The President of Ecuador has set a high target - zero deforestation by 2017. So as part of their contribution, scouts in Ecuador decided to meet his challenge with action – they organised an historic nationwide reforestation programme the Siembraton or ‘Plant-a-thon’.

In one 24-hour period, these Scouts managed to organise the planting of 765’073 trees, thus increasing their environment biodiversity, supporting the regeneration of habitats in this beautiful country – and earning a well deserved Guinness Book of Records award in doing so!
