Refugees in Germany

Thousands of young men and women - Scouts - in Germany have been responding, welcoming newly arrived at border crossings and transport hubs, determined to show their new neighbours what they so desperately seek - peace.

Scout groups across Germany have been inviting newly arrived children to weekly meetings and Scout camps, welcoming them as old friends and including their entire families in to the Scouting community. This inclusivity, or more simply relationship building, has been enabled by your support to the project. Now, the Scouts are sharing their findings and the project continues to expand.

Scouts are taking their responsibility as community leaders seriously, by opening their doors to young people who have a different language, different traditions and who grew up in a different environment. And they are changing the face of the crisis on a local level.
