Casa Alianza

Scouts in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, reach out to thousands of street children and by offering them the chance to change their lives. Their outreach project links to an NGO called Casa Alianza, and provides Scout programmes, leadership development, teamwork and a change to dream, to the young people saved from the streets by their partner organisation.
Scouting has become a place where these vulnerable children can learn, live and grow in the knowledge that they are safe and free.
By giving time, care and respect to street children throughout Honduras, the Scouts are helping to build safer communities in the future. Many of these street children are left to fend for themselves in life, and end up turning to gangs to get the support they need. But by offering a safer alternative, the Scouts are not only saving these yung people, but also making their communities safer – one step at a time.
