Young Baden-Powell Fellows

Join a Global Network

The Young Baden-Powell Fellows programme gives people under the age of 35 the opportunity to begin their philanthropic journey with Scouting – the world’s largest youth movement.

As a Young Baden-Powell Fellow, you join a diverse and energetic network of over 180 young change makers from around the world. Together, you share ideas, build connections and support Scout-led projects that tackle today’s biggest challenges: climate action, peace building, disaster relief, community development and more.

You don’t have to be a Scout yourself to be part of it. What unites Young Baden Powell Fellows, or Young BP Fellows as they are known, is a common belief: when young people are empowered, they can change the world.

How to become a Young BP Fellow

To join, you make an initial pledge of USD 1,000 before your 35th birthday.
This can be given directly, sponsored by a parent or grandparent or gifted by another BP Fellow.

From the moment you join, you are recognised as part of the Fellowship and can take advantage of its events and opportunities.

Growing Into Full Fellowship
At age 36, Young BP Fellows can decide how to continue their journey:

  • Upgrade to a full Baden-Powell Fellowship by pledging the remaining USD 9,000 (payable in flexible installments over up to 10 years).
  • Or conclude their membership without obligation.

This pathway makes the Young Baden-Powell Fellows programme a flexible entry point for young philanthropists who want to grow their commitment over time.

If you have questions, our Young BP Fellow FAQ page offers clear answers and further guidance.

How young is too young?

There is no such thing as too young to start. Parents and grandparents sometimes sponsor children under 18 as Young Baden-Powell Fellows, giving them the chance to grow into the community and benefit as they mature.
