Mr Felipe Marqueis

Manager, Individual Giving

Felipe is passionate about leadership development, fundraising and youth engagement. His love for teamwork developed at a young age, after joining the Scouts, aged nine, in his hometown, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has served Scouting in various roles, including as Director of the World Scout Centre in Kandersteg, and as a volunteer at many local, national, regional and international events.

Felipe joined the Foundation Team in January 2022

Felipe studied Hospitality Management and, after working in various hotels and restaurants, was drawn back to Scouting, joining Kandersteg International Scout Centre as Deputy Director. Less than a year later, following a change in management, Felipe was promoted to Director and led the World Scout Centre from 2015 until 2019. During his tenure, he successfully managed a growing team of volunteers of up to 120 people, from over 30 different countries, through the creation of a human resources strategy. He also led the Centre through a digital transformation, including the redesigning of the visual identity and a new website, including an online booking engine.

After leaving the Scout Centre in 2019, Felipe opened his own business, providing consulting services on coaching, leadership and culture. In late 2021, he worked for the World Scout Foundation as an external consultant, supporting the recruitment of new staff positions, which led to him being initially employed on a temporary basis by the Foundation to support the new team in its onboarding process and ensure a healthy and high performing work culture. This was followed shortly, after a thorough internal selection process, by a full appointment as the junior of the two fundraisers as part of the renewed Secretariat.

His passion for leadership and youth engagement continues to inspire him daily. In 2024, he obtained an MBA, and in 2025, he became a certified LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitator.  Felipe speaks Portuguese, English, German, French, Spanish and some Italian.
