Mrs Margot Bogert
Margot Bogert (USA) has been involved in Scouting all of her life beginning from the time that her mother started a Girl Scout troop in North Carolina.
Became a member of the World Baden-Powell Fellowship in 1982 and joined the WSF Board in 1990.
Of course they met at their house and her father, who was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, provided their camping equipment. Her first contact with international Scouting was to serve on the International Committee of the BSA under the wing of Jim Sands. She was the only female member. She traveled under the auspices of the BSA to Kenya and Egypt where She was part of a small evaluation team looking at USAID/Scout projects.
Her father by this time had become a leader in the World Scout Committee and along with Gustavo Vollmar founded the WSF. As an only child, albeit a girl, she had no choice but to become involved in World Scouting. She has loved every minute and every friend whom she has made over the years.
Scouting is truly an educational method for the adults as well as the young people. She feels privileged to be a part of this great movement.
Margot moved from being an active Board Member (with voting rights) to a Life Member of the Board (without voting rights) on 7th October 2023.
