
Mr Rob Woolford
Rob Woolford (UK) was born in London in 1946 and joined Scouting as a cub in England in 1954.
He lived from the age of 5 in Weybridge, Surrey and remained living in the same town until his retirement from very active day to day involvement in business.
Became a member of the World Baden-Powell Fellowship in 2004 and joined the WSF Board in 2009.
He has enjoyed a lifelong connection with Scouting, attaining his Queen’s Scout and participating in the World Scout Jamboree at Marathon, Greece in 1963.
He continued in Scouting as a Venture Scout Leader in the UK, District Commissioner and as a County Treasurer for Surrey, England, until his retirement from active business, and on a move to his parent's home in Sark, Channel Islands.
He has also maintained an enjoyment of skiing, having first learnt to ski in 1964 in Kandersteg and subsequently during several long holidays in the 1960s spent at the International Scout chalet in Kandersteg, Switzerland.
His professional life was as a Chartered Accountant. He qualified in 1967 and then practised in London and internationally, retiring from full-time activity in 2006.
His current active involvement in Scouting is as Chairman of Walton Firs Foundation, a Charity established to buy and manage an Activity Centre operated in Surrey, England, for Scouting, Guiding and other young people’s educational organisations.
He is married with 3 grown-up children and now lives with his wife Jan on the Island of Sark in the Channel Islands, where amongst other things, he has purchased Stocks Hotel, a charming hotel next door to his home now being well visited by many friends.
