Mr Nathan Rosenberg
Nathan Owen Rosenberg joined the Scouts when he turned 11 years old. He went to summer camp the very next month with his father, older brother and other boys from their church. This adventure cemented his love for Scouting. As a Tenderfoot, he moved to Plymouth Meeting Troop 317 where he advanced to Life Scout. Two highlights from his Scout years were attending the 1964 National Jamboree at Valley Forge and being tapped out as a member of the Scout's honour society, the Order of the Arrow. He moved into Explorer Scouts. This was full of adventures in trekking and long-term backpack camping.
Became a member of the World Baden-Powell Fellowship in 2023 and joined the WSF Board in 2023.
Nathan reconnected with Scouting when a business associate asked him to help redesign leadership training for Scout leaders — that invitation made all the difference. He served on the national advisory board and then in 2008 was elected to the executive board of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). He served as chairman for training and for marketing. He chaired the Scout Conferences at Philmont Scout Ranch and led the programme area for two national jamborees.
On a parallel track, in the Orange County Council, he was elected to the board of directors and appointed vice chairman for field operations. For the centennial of the BSA, he was elected chairman of the council board.
Nathan volunteers in Scouting to pay back a debt that can never be repaid. At a time when his life could have gone in the wrong direction, Scouts put him on the right path leading to admission to and graduation from the United States Air Force Academy. He later reconneccted to Scouts as an adult and revived his commitment to live by the Scout Oath and Law.
Early in his career, Nathan was commissioned in the Navy and flew search-and-rescue. He served as an executive support officer to the Secretary of Defence and national defence advisor to the Majority Leader of the Senate.
He currently is one of two founding partners of Insigniam, an international management consulting firm that consults large corporations on organisational transformation, breakthrough, and innovation.
He and his wife, Karen, live in Laguna Beach, California. They have five children. His hobbies are running with their Rhodesian Ridgeback, paddling and reading.
