
HE Faisal A. Almuaammar
Faisal bin Muaammar is founding Secretary General of the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (Vienna) and former Secretary General of the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue (Riyadh). He is also Supervisor General of the King Abdulaziz Public Library (Riyadh).
In addition to these roles, he serves as Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques – King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – on matters relating to dialogue.
Became a member of the World Baden-Powell Fellowship in 2006 and joined the WSF Board in 2008
Faisal has served on the boards of a number of organizations devoted to enhancing education and inter-group understanding. Currently, in addition to his role within the World Scout Foundation, he is on the Boards of the King Abdul Aziz Foundation for Islamic Studies and Humanities (Morocco); the King Fahad National Library; the Administration Authority of the National Center for Documents and Archives; the Forum of Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies (United Arab Emirates); The King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, The National Committee for Monitoring the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue Initiatives and the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning.
He has also held key roles within the Saudi Arabian government, including as Vice-Minister of Education (2009 – 2011) and Undersecretary of the Saudi Arabian National Guard’s Educational & Cultural Affairs Department (1996 – 2003).
He obtained a Bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of Riyadh (now King Saud University) in 1982, followed by a Masters in Management from Webster University (Missouri) in 1985.
