My Tent is Your Tent

The ongoing instability, insecurity and violent situation in Syria have led millions to flee their homeland and seek safety in neighbouring Lebanon. Witnessing the influx of refugees, the Scouts of Lebanon moved into action, and vouched to assist the most vulnerable – particularly families with children.
While these refugees (or “guests” as the Lebanese Scouts call them) are not gathered in camps, but houses among the diverse communities in the country, Scouts, themselves members of these communities, have provided a great welcome – a smile, a respite for the traumatised children, and the necessary emergency support – housing provided by tents, sleeping mats and bedding, clothing collected by the scouts from throughout the community, and hope – provided by a welcome to their community by the Scouts who rally their parents and community leaders in support.
My tent is your tent – says it all. These 100,000 Lebanese Scouts of all faiths and cultures in this incredibly diverse society, are truly “Messengers of Peace”.
