Hands across the lines of conflict

The relationship between India and Pakistan has been complex - particularly in the volatile region of Kashmir. In an effort to nurture a more amicable relationship, scouts on the two sides of the tense border, have taken action to ease tensions and build trust and confidence.

Following tentative firt steps hundreds of Scouts form both sides took part in a camp on the Indian side in 2011, allowing Scouts from two countries to meet, establish friendship, and further cooperation and facilitate discussion on peace. In 2012, they came back together in a similar camp. This time on the Pakistani side.

Once again, scouts take small initial steps, which hopefully can build to a more lasting understanding, trust and hope for long term peace.
