Discovering Malaysian Scouting. 77th BP Fellowship event
⚜️Malaysian Scouting, service, connection, and community spirit 🌏
During our 77th BP Fellowship Event in Kuala Lumpur, BP Fellows, Young BP Fellows, and guests — including HM King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and WSF Board Member HH Princess Sama — engaged with the Scouts Association of Malaysia (Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia).
From exploring the history of Malaysian Scouting to hands-on activities like Scouts Go Solar, Dialogue for Peace, iconic knot tying, and discovering Sea and Air Scouts, it was an afternoon of learning, teamwork, and fun.
A special highlight: Maj. Gen. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Zin Bidin, National Chief Scout, presented HM King Carl XVI Gustaf with a traditional royal headdress crafted from songket cloth — a beautiful reflection of our event motif and the shared values between Malaysian Scouting and the World Scout Foundation.
⚜️ Serving 100,000+ young people, the Scouts Association of Malaysia is the country’s largest informal youth organisation.
🇲🇾 Scouting in Malaysia began in 1908, uniting Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous communities nationwide.
🧭🌱 Renowned for adventure-based learning, environmental initiatives, and community service, Malaysian Scouts foster global citizenship and leadership.
Huge thanks to Persekutuan Pengkap Malaysia for hosting this memorable experience!
