It’s been a long time coming and the Foundation, along with our local hosts, Scouting Ireland, are raring to meet you and to treat you to some unforgettable Irish hospitality!

Programme

Thursday 21 April:

  • Arrivals and event registration at the Hilton Conrad Dublin Hotel.
     
  • Full day Pre-Event Tour to the National Stud & Powerscourt Estate Distillery
    Tour the Irish National Stud and its Japanese Gardens, a unique attraction of outstanding natural beauty that is home to some of the most magnificent horses and exquisite gardens to be found anywhere in the world. Drive through Wicklow,  the “Garden of Ireland”, to the historic Powerscourt Estate, for a tour of the sumptuous gardens (voted third best in the world by National Geographic) and a tour and tasting in the Irish Whiskey distillery in the Estate’s 18th Century Mill House.
     
  • WSF Board Committee Meetings during the day for Board Members.


Friday 22 April:

  • A half day Pre-Event Tour to Glendalough
    Explore Glendalough Monastic Site, founded in the sixth century by St Kevin and a source of learning and spiritual contemplation for centuries. Walk the ruins; immerse yourself in its rich history, including the impressive Round Tower used to withstand Viking attacks, the Cathedral, iconic churches and buildings; and marvel at the surrounding natural beauty of Glendalough, the “valley of two lakes”.
     
  • In the afternoon, the 2022 WSF Impact of Scouting Seminar will take place at the Mansion House in central Dublin. This afternoon event will feature young Scout speakers who will share dynamic talks on their learning and experiences of leading impactful Scout projects.
     
  • Dinner with a local Dublin Scout Group: Scout Groups in and around the city centre of Dublin will be inviting us to join them for dinner at their respective Scout Houses.
     
  • WSF Board Committee Meetings during the morning for Board Members.


Saturday 23 April:

  • Discover Dublin: In the morning, you will enjoy one of a number of selected tours, which we expect to include the Guinness Storehouse; Trinity College; the Pearse Lyons Distillery; EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum; Dublin Castle and more!
     
  • The WSF Board will meet during the day.

  • Gala Dinner: The evening is reserved for the 74th BP Fellowship Gala Dinner at Christ Church Cathedral where we will recognise and celebrate new BP Fellows and Honours Programme Members.  

Sunday 24 April:

  • Scout Activity and lunch with Irish Scouts at "Larch Hill International Scout and Guide Centre".
    Post-event note: This activity was replaced with an Information session for BP Fellows on "Momentum for Scouting".
     
  • Departures in the afternoon.
